About the photographer
ABOUT ME
I am Dani Schaufeli, known as Shots by DS — a creative, all-round freelance photographer based in Apeldoorn, specialising in branding, wedding, sport and documentary photography.
It started four years ago in Bosnia, during the Srebrenica memorial run. That trip opened my eyes to travelling, meeting new people, and the power of a real story. Back home it slowly grew — artists, footballers, brands and weddings, learning something from every single shoot.
Within sport I've worked with Mees Hilgers, Youssef El Kachati, Pedro Bondo, Dillon Hoogewerf and Tony Vilhena, and shot international moments like FC Twente – Beşiktaş JK and the GLORY media days. My work has taken me to Portugal, Morocco, Togo, Colombia and the Maluku Islands, documenting sport projects, social initiatives and cultural stories for organisations like SC Nowruz, Jugador and Global Group Sports.
For me, photography isn't just taking pictures. It's a feeling. A moment. A story. My goal stays the same every time: to create images that truly feel real, tell a story, and leave a lasting impact.
